The recording standard

01 / Hood open

Cold or warm idle, phone held 24 inches above the front edge of the engine. Record for 20–30 seconds.

02 / Doors closed

Phone at the driver’s head position, climate control and radio off. Record the same operating condition.

03 / Behind vehicle

Phone 36 inches behind and slightly to the side of the outlet. Never record in an enclosed space.
